Brock + Lily are always up for a great adventure.
They love exploring nature. Except if they find a spider... then it's game over.
Say cheese!
Brock and Lily.
Brock 'n Lily.
Brock lily.
Brock ily.
Broccoli!
They always make me giggle. There is never a dull moment with these goofballs.
Let me catch you up on more of our latest & greatest summer memories...
♡
1-2-3... Summer blast-off!
{behind the scenes... a lil bitta elbow grease and a lotta love}
Noooooooo.... daddy crushed our dreams! Accidents happen. {Our volcano has since then been marked inactive for the rest of eternity.} LOL.
Post-swim practice morning treats...
nom...nom...nom
Decorating rocks. Cool kids paint rocks.
Breaking records.
...and breaking rules!
Only real artists make messes. Homemade sidewalk chalk is a fave of ours.
Katie's Krazy Kotton Kandy.
YUMMY.
Preparing for our pretend town. We put all of the forgotten snow-cone and cotton candy makers that were collecting dust in the shelves to good use that day.
"Lily's Snow" was a total hit.
...and "Brock's Famous ICEE's."
Games of sweet & sour in my car.
"Girl" days when Brock is at a friend's house.
She wanted every nail a different fun color. Girl after my own heart. PS... she made that cute bracelet.
And "boy" days when Lily is at camp. {Brock with my brother Griffin and his BFF, Cam. He loves hangin with the big kids and they love hangin with him.}
Up close and personal at the awesome new Orangatan exhibit at the Indianapolis Zoo! Watching those orangatans drink out of juice boxes with a straw was the cutest thing ever.
Refreshing pool days... marco polo, relay races, splash judging contests, chicken fights, popsicle breaks, raft tours, golf ball diving, and water slide fun! My grandparents house is one of our favorite hangouts.
Crayon art.
Emptied piggy banks for trips to the local candy shop.
...and necessary ice cream runs.
{Ice cream and popsicles are the reason i have a messy car. And i am perfectly OK with that.}
Chocolate teeth selfies.
Jello worm experiments.
Gross but delicous.
Brocklandia and Lily Utopia. With big imaginations, we turned empty spaghetti jars into magic worlds.
Endless PB&J sandwiches and goldfish. Their standard summer lunch.
Many grand gazeebo picnics consisting of nothing other than pb&j and goldfish packed lunches.
And making god's eyes was very fun.
Most recently, we made "Brilly's Dream Garden." An egg crate garden. We planted the seeds in the empty egg shells.
I have nannied them for the past four summers and it is the absolute best job ever. I've known them since they were born because our families are close friends, but I can remember the first summer I went over to their house and they were both a little shy. Since then, we have bonded more than I ever thought possible. These kids have truly become my best friends.

No matter where life takes us, they will always be the "she" to my "nanigans." These kids have my heart. And I am so thankful for the happy times we have shared together. I hope years from now they can look back on their summers with "Katie" as some of their favorite childhood memories.
With just about 3 weeks of this summer left, I was talking to Brock about how we have to make the most of it! I had to explain to him that I won't be able to spend a whole summer with them again since I have to go get a real job in graphic design because that is what I go to college for. Boooo.
Brock's response was absolutely priceless.
Brock: "Well, I am going to college to study football."
I said, "OOh, maybe we could team up and I could design you some cool football helmets!"
Then he said... "Katie, by the time I am in college you will already be a parent and half dead!"
I about peed my pants laughing while I was driving. So innocent. He didn't even understand why i was laughing! Very true, Brock, very true. 10 years from now, I will be 30 and almost half way through my life! To him, I probably seem old. But hanging with Lily and Brock these past four summers has helped me embrace staying young and being a kid for as long as I can hold on for!
Nanny McD out-
PS. Stay tuned for a few more Nanny McD adventures. I have a feeling we will be celebrating the end of this summer with a big BANG.
Wow! I should've hired you for the summer!! You are way more fun than me :) Lucky kids to spend the summer with Nanny McD… love it!
