My dearest human beings... the people i share blood with by love. You'll be seeing a lot of them on here, so i thought i should introduce you to them right off the bat. {Mom, Dad, Riley, Griffin, + me.}
We make a really fun family of 5.
Smart mathematician daddy + Artist mommy = me, their oldest {and only} baby girl, a mix of the two
You may already know my awesome mom. Whimsy Studios? Lori McDonough? Yeah, she's pretty much famous. She inspires me every. day. Long days in the studio with her are the best days.
I'm also the oldest grandchild. The leader of the cousins. I've got a pack of boys who always have my back. That's my mawmaw + pawpaw in the middle there. They are such fun and loving grandparents. Us cousins are so spoiled by them. We love to hang out at their aweome backyard pool and eat mawmaw's yummy food.
Meg + I are the girls of the group. Ten years apart but still great friends. We like to braid eachother's hair and do secret handshakes. I'm so excited for when we are adults together.
My aunts {i call them nimi + suey} are amazing women who i am proud to call good friends. There is always laughter and silliness when we get together.
{My 3 uncles are pretty rad, too... but I realized i need to take more pics with those cool dudes.}
They may not be humans but these two fluffy pups are definitely members of this family. Sunny + Abe: 2 brothers, 7 legs, 1 brotherhood.
...And i think that covers just about everyone! Well, sorta. I lost 2 very loving members of my family recently. Mimi + Poppy. My beloved grandparents. My father's parents. Somedays it still takes my breath away that they aren't still here in town. They protect me everyday from above... with the rest of my ancestors who have gone before me. Even the ones who i have never met.
{I will cherish this captured moment forever. This picture was taken on my birthday... may 5th, 1994. My excited grandmothers and grandfathers celebrating thier first grandchild together. I cannot believe this was twenty years ago. These 4 people gave me my italian + irish heritage, the wisdom to guide me through life, and endless endless love.}
I found this breathtaking quote by Linda Hogan. It made me think about my roots and where i come from. What an amazing thing to think about! It makes me feel grateful for the memories i have made with my Mimi + Poppy as well as the memories i have made with everyone in my family.
Family is everything. I am so blessed!
happy hump day, friends!
